As Gaia placed the mask on Junichi's head, she frowned and asked, "If the air isn't the cleanest, why don't you wear it? I mean - it's yours. I don't want you to get sick." Junichi was desperately trying to control her shaking - she wasn't normally like this. It confused her to no end.

Gaia noticed how badly Jun was shaking. "I'm sure it's fine," she gently stroked Jun's arm. "Sweetheart, What's wrong?" there was a long pause before she spoke again. "Do we need to rest...?" she was truly worried now and she had no clue what to do.

Junichi shook her head, "Nothing. The cold must be getting to me." She looked up and unknowingly met Gaia's eyes, "The sooner we get to our destination, the better."

Gaia lifted the mask just enough so she could see Jun's lips and she gently leaned in, brushing their lips together. "You'd tell me if something was wrong? Right...?" she put her hand on Jun's shoulder and gave her a reassuring squeeze. "It'll be okay, we'll be in town soon enough, When we get there we'll hide in the sewers, hopefully Regenard doesn't care to look for me anymore."

"Of course!" Junichi replied. "I'd expect you to do the same, though. Alright, that sounds fine. Why was Regenard looking for you, anyways?"

Izanami laughed under her breath and looked at his torn shirt.
"If we return to my shelter or pass it, I can get you a new one. I've picked them up from trade." She told Regenard quietly, then looked at his face as if she were trying to read it. She looked back at his shirt.
"I can't guarantee you of what I have, though."

((@AstralBeings, @CaptainLu; make sure that if you've left AARON'S HOME, you make an exit and post in another area.))

Regenard turned to Izanami and smiled faintly.
"Anything dark will do, really. I've got my coat to cover me," he said, and turned to Aaron, "And lovely. Don't worry, it's nothing, I'm fine. Prepare yourself, yeah?"
He tapped his foot faster. He just wanted to leave.

Izanami glanced into the house, growing as impatient as Regenard.
She looked back to him. "I don't want you growing too cold without a proper shirt. You look as if you might freeze right there." She closed his coat around him, and at his warmth she blushed violently.

Regenard chuckled and kissed Izanami's cheek.
"Don't worry about me, if I survived in the heat with this coat, I can survive in the cold without it, lass," he said, smiling.

Izanami looked into the house one last time.
"I don't know what's happened to Ohanzee and Aaron..." She sighed.
"I know this may sound crazy and selfish, but if you want to leave without the lot, I'm right behind you."

Regenard pulled a scrap of paper from his pocket and scrawled on it.
"The city. Three days." it read. He took a knife and stabbed it into the side of the house.
"We can go, but we've already lost time. We'll need to hurry," he said, scanning the area carefully.

Izanami smiled softly from the corner of her mouth.
"I'll try not to fall too behind, dear." Sh challenged, then laughed a little under her breath.
She was going to start pushing herself so that she would no longer receive special concern or treatment from Regenard, or any other man for that matter.

Regenard smiled back, his breath visible between his lips.
"We've still got to wait for that Merc friend of yours," he said, "You and I can't just go marching into that city."

Izanami nodded in agreement, then looked to the horizon.
"Regenard, do they let women into the Cadets? Or are they generally only men?" She asked suddenly.

Regenard gazed into the distance.
"Gaia was a Cadet. Betrayed me and Ohanzee. So yes, they let women in," he said solemnly. His mind began to flash again. He saw flames. He heard cries. He smelled smoke.
In his mind rung a prayer his mother said before she slept each night.

"If I should die before I wake, I pray thee, Lord, my soul to take."

Izanami looked back to him.
"My sister and mother were taken by the cadets. I doubt my mother is even alive, as she was forty when she was taken, but my sister..." She looked down and shook her head. After a minute, she glanced up with a tear in her eye.
"I assume she was taken for a sex slave, but something about her bite as a kid tells me that she might have fought her way into being her own soldier. I want to warn you... if I see a female Cadet, I may not shoot right away. I still hope that she's alive..."

Regenard stared at the fading sunlight above.
"It's alright," he said, his fingers messing with the trigger of his rifle, "You won't need to do any killing."

Izanami closed her eyes.
"Even if she were alive, she probably wouldn't hesitate to kill me." She sighed.

Regenard looked at Izanami.
"She might not even recognize you, love," he said solemnly, remembering his own sister, and how her funeral had been of his own flames.
He whispered to himself.
"I pray thee, lord, my soul to take..."

Izanami examined his face, then nodded.
"I shouldn't even bother myself with the thought of such a chance encounter. She would kill me, or someone would kill her in order to defend me." She meant to point out Regenard, but she knew he wasn't the only one. "I need to stop thinking about Anika..."

Regenard brought a bloodstained red bow out of his pocket and held it to the sky.
"We all think about our pasts too much. That's what holds Ghosts on this planet, you know. They can't forget," he said.

Izanami watched the bow, the wind barely moving it.
"I shouldn't ask, but what is the bow from?" She asked softly. "I've seen it only a few times, but it must be an important symbol for you..." She immediately regretted asking him.

"Sister," Regenard said, tucking the bow gently back in his pocket.
"That's her blood. I burned her body that night, when I left. I burned everything. This is all I've got left," he said, still looking up.

Izanami bit her lip and stepped a bit closer to him.
"I'm sorry, Regenard. I shouldn't have asked..." She closed her eyes and leaned her head against the side of the house. She was so stupid sometimes.

Regenard wrapped his arm around Izanami.
"It's fine. I've got to remember my past, otherwise I might just fade away," he said softly.
